When We Left Earth by R-Tan When We Left Earth by R-Tan
Humans are locusts, we consume then move on. Reminds me of the smog in L.A.

How did you draw all those humans on the bridge? That seems like it would take a looooooong time if you actually drew the lineart for each human individually..
R-Tan Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2012  Professional Digital Artist
The people are just different colored strokes.

In the same genre as Wall-E, but I like your ships' launch method better, and the buildings background. Amazed at the detail level made in that amount of time.

...but.. we are peaceful locusts surely ? would we ever demand the land off another species and forcebly take it ? surely by the time we reach intergalactic travel we will be better than the European colonists?

I don't think that were that different from the original cro-magnons that walked the earth. When times are good we can be very generous and compassionate. But in times of famine our basic instincts will take over and each nation or person will fend for themselves. People tend to want more than they have, which leads to using more than we need, which ulimately leads to taking from those who have what we want. Especially here in the U.S. Our motto should be more is always better, and having the most is always best. I don't exclude myself from this either. I'm just as self indulgent as the next guy. I used to set-up and install high-end tv's in customers homes. It's sad to see a person spending $10,000 home theater setup walking past the homeless guy outside begging for change to get food.

As far the explotation of land or species, our technology is evolving much faster than our maturity. I think we will live among the stars before we solve our existing terrestrial problems(greed, poverty, crime, racism). There will always be a handful of people in some time of powerful position who will exploit the mass's for there own gain, or the the group or nation that they feel allegiance to.

I think that our so called intelligence is our greatest strength and our greatest weakness. Ultimately I think that we will be the cause of our own demise.
Instead of trying to adapt to our surroundings we tend to use our technology to try adapt our surroundings to suit us. Because of this our evolution is stunted or slowed down. We will not last as long as the dinosaurs did, and nature will always win in the end.

Our future… I hope not.
This is a great picture for such short amount of time. I think it would take me at least 40 hours or something.
I was wondering, what tools do you use to make it look like a real painting I mean, it looks like it was a photo of a real painting. I have my Painter but I can't reach such effects. It's just amazing.

Keep it up please!
